NEKROMANTHEON
With a band name more suited to black metal, Nekromantheon are all-out thrash and within the first bar, the name that immediately leaps to mind is “Slayer”. The riffs are chaotic and unremitting, the tracks are short and straight to the point, and the vocals are puked with as much punk attitude as can be crammed into these eleven unremitting bombardments. And so it’s thrash madness from beginning to end. ‘We’re Rotting’ blasts riff after riff out of the speakers. Stopping only briefly for what surely must be a breakdown, another riff blasts out, only this time faster and more fervent than the last. Like Toxic Holocaust, Nekromantheon have the get-in-quick-and-get-out-even-quicker approach to every aspect of their sound. What makes this amphetamine-charged collection of material from 2007 onwards appealing is the sheer speed and relentless attitude of the tracks. Delivered at face-tearing tempos, the tracks are aggressive, brutal, and have enough hooks to equip a Japanese tuna fleet. With plenty of neck-breaking mosh-pit anthems, Nekromantheon have an arsenal primed and ready with a few tracks to take on the likes of Warbringer and Evile. Keep an eye out for these guys.
