HEAVEN'S BASEMENT
Heaven's Basement were created following the demise of Hurricane Party/Roadstar and have already caused quite a stir in their short time together. They have an already impressive CV, having played Bloodstock 2008 and last December's Hard Rock Hell 2. The band have also successfully completed the UK leg as Thunder's main support on their current European tour. This EP shows the band play a brand of hard rock, which combines a great groove with a high energy that totally kicks ass throughout. Their sound brings to mind bands such as Skid Row, Junkyard and ‘Appetite’-era Guns 'n' Roses. The opening 2 tracks ‘Tear Your Heart Out’, ‘Executioner's Day’ and final track ‘Reign On My Parade’ go for the jugular and literally take your head off, with the opener being particularly awesome. The musicianship is so tight and professional, never failing to impress whilst the production quality is far superior than what you would normally expect from a self financed release. This EP shows Heaven's Basement are capable of making straight ahead balls out hard rock sound fresh and exciting. Anyone with a passion for this genre should make the effort to catch these guys live on their next UK headline tour with dates likely to be confirmed for this April/May.
